Responsible for the overall strategic and operational leadership for the safari camp Ensures that every aspect of the camp operates seamlessly delivering worldclass guest experiences while upholding the highest standards of ecotourism sustainability and conservation. The Director of Operations plays a key role in maintaining the camps reputation as an exclusive safari destination ensuring personalized immersive and unforgettable guest interactions with nature.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the annual operational budget ensuring cost efficiency without compromising quality.
- Ensures costs across departments are monitored on a monthly basis and KPIs are achieved.
- Oversee revenue optimization strategies and ensure financial accountability.
- Monitor expenditures control inventory costs and negotiate supplier contracts.
- Analyze financial reports and provide insights to senior management
- Develop and implement operational strategies to ensure worldclass guest experiences.
- Oversee all departments including front office housekeeping food & beverage guiding maintenance and logistics.
- Ensure seamless daytoday operations optimizing efficiency while maintaining luxury standards.
- Drive sustainability initiatives in line with conservation policies and responsible tourism practices.
- Maintain compliance with national park regulations local laws and environmental guidelines.
- Set and uphold hospitality standards that deliver personalized and exclusive guest experiences.
- Oversee VIP guest handling and ensure the highest level of attention to detail in service delivery.
- Implement guest feedback mechanisms to continuously improve service quality.
- Work closely with the lodge managers guides and activity teams to enhance safari experiences.
- Implement and monitor health hygiene and safety protocols for guests and team members.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans including medical evacuation procedures.
- Ensure proper risk assessments and adherence to wildlife safety guidelines.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management Business Administration or related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience in luxury hospitality including 5 years in senior leadership
- Proven track record managing highend safari camps or lodges
- Strong financial acumen and experience in budgeting
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Passion for conservation and sustainability
