Job Description

This role is HybridRemote and requires 2 days/week onsite in our Lehi Utah office to collaborate with our Nearmap team.

As a Commercial Financial Analyst at Nearmap you are responsible for providing expert financial guidance and support to the North America Gotomarket business. You will provide strong commercial and financial analysis partner in discussions build operational budgets and forecasts provide strong financial guidance and thought leadership and will contribute to the decisionmaking process impacting these departments. Forming strong relationships with the senior stakeholders in the departments you support is critical to this role. You will play a key role in driving and supporting the sales commission plans calculations and audit accuracy. Additionally you will work closely with crossfunctional teams including Sales Sales Operations Global Financial Planning & Analysis Accounting Payroll Legal and HR to ensure smooth and accurate variable compensation processes. The ideal candidate will be a proactive selfstarter with 24 years of experience as a Financial Analyst and a deep understanding of KPI reporting forecasting financial analysis and modelling.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the North America Gotomarket teams including business case preparation trend analysis market sizing pricing analysis deal structure investment decisions resource optimisation pipeline management and ARR forecasting
  • Commercial modelling indepth understanding of performance drivers from lead acquisition right through to deal closure and customer lifecycle journey. Examples include conversion rates velocity churn & retention deal size & structure
  • Identify and track key operational metrics to measure leading indicators of performance
  • Continuous improvement and optimisation of Sales and Marketing operational processes
  • Manage the commission payment process and applications for quota carrying resources across Nearmap and the processing of commissions accruals
  • Prepare and maintain commission reports and analysis ensuring they align with company goals and compensation plans
  • Tracking and reporting of quota attainment metrics
  • Budgeting and Forecasting for the North America Gotomarket business including preparation and presentation of results
  • Monitor and provide management reporting and analysis on the competitive landscape 
  • Create implement and maintain a robust expense and revenue forecasting process to allow real time visibility of key Sales and Marketing metrics 
  • Support the Manager Commercial Finance and the NA VP RevOps & Finance in the strategic decisionmaking process
  • Ensures that actual costs incurred by the US business are in line with the budgeted amount and preparation of monthly variance analysis
  • Provide insightful financial analysis on sales performance commission structures and compensation trends for Nearmaps Sales Compensation plans
  • Assist in forecasting and budgeting sales commissions ensuring they align with overall business objectives and growth targets
  • Support the Accounting team in timely and accurate preparation of monthly accruals and reconciliations for commissions accounting
  • Facilitate review of financial results with the NA leadership team Head of Finance and CRO
  • Prepare management reporting documents on a monthly basis
  • Ad Hoc projects and requests as needed
  • Budgeting and Forecasting for the North America Gotomarket business including preparation and presentation of results
  • Monitor and provide management reporting and analysis on the competitive landscape

Qualifications :

  • 24 years of experience in FP&A or Commercial Finance
  • SaaS or subscription business experience preferred
  • BS/BA in accounting finance economics or other quantitative fields preferred
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills
  • Effective communication across the organisation and multiple regions
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Advanced PowerPoint and presentation skills 
  • Ability to work in a fast paced highly dynamic environment
  • Organized and meets all deadlines
  • Experience with EPM (Adaptive) and ERP (NetSuite) systems
  • Experience with BI/reporting tools (Looker Tableau Power BI)
  • Excellent written verbal and visual communication skills
  • Positive and energetic
  • Strong emotional intelligence
  • A drive to continually improve processes
