Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Childrens Social Worker with extensive experience across the child welfare system to join a local authority in North Yorkshire. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in child protection and court work ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children through strengthbased interventions with families.

You will work within NYCs defined practice model which is rooted in systemic principles Signs of Safety and Family Seeing methodology. Collaboration with multiagency partners the childs network and team colleagues is essential to delivering the best outcomes for children and their families.

Rate of Pay:37 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead child protection investigations and court proceedings ensuring robust assessments and care planning.
  • Work in a strengthbased approach with children and their families to promote safety and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate effectively with multiagency partners including education health and legal services.
  • Ensure compliance with child care legislation and best practice frameworks.
  • Maintain highquality case recording and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance within your team contributing to a supportive and reflective working environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years postqualification experience (to comply with new agency regulations).
  • Social Work England registration with no annotations or restrictions on practice.
  • Strong knowledge of child protection court processes and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with families and professionals.
  • Full UK drivers license and access to a vehicle (essential).
