Job Description

As a Senior Linux/Unix Engineer you will be responsible for managing maintaining and optimizing our Linux and Unixbased infrastructure and associated technologies within our hybrid IT environment. The ideal candidate will ensure the health performance and security of servers and systems while collaborating with crossfunctional teams to implement and support enterprisewide solutions.

What You Will Do:

  • Install new and/or rebuild Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Red Hat OpenShift Oracle Linux AIX Solaris HPUX and related infrastructure components in accordance with customer governance and audit requirements.
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for recurring tasks such as OS patching backup & recovery OS hardening and deviations ensuring processes are up to date.
  • Perform daily system checks and monitoring highlight abnormalities and participate in troubleshooting and service recovery.
  • Provide Linux and Unix infrastructure/OS support collaborating with project teams for rollouts and enhancements.
  • Execute infrastructure lifecycle events such as user account management software updates (OS kernel agent/client software etc..
  • Work closely with related infrastructure teams (e.g. Storage Network) to deliver integrated service solutions.
  • Participate in monthly and adhoc OS patching for both Linux and Unix servers/containers under the service contract.
  • Conduct performance monitoring optimization and capacity planning by analyzing server health statistics and making necessary recommendations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Linux and Unix infrastructurerelated incidents supporting application teams when necessary.
  • Escalate issues to principal vendors and/or thirdparty vendors while ensuring compliance with customer policies and regulations.
  • Participate in a rotating standby schedule for night or weekend tasks as required.

 


    Qualifications :

    The Ideal Candidate Should Possess:

    • Diploma/Degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field.
    • 5 7 years of handson experience in Linux and Unix system administration.
    • RHEL AIX Solaris or HPUX certifications are a plus.
