Job Description
Vatorex is a Swiss technology startup dedicated to saving honey bees. We are committed to creating innovative solutions for the beekeeping community to enable healthier bees more robust food systems and a sustainable planet. We develop and distribute hardware and software solutions for beekeepers. Our flagship product is a chemicalfree parasite treatment using the principle of heat. Senior Firmware engineer 80100 (m/f/d)
Your role will be to lead the development of the embedded software for an AgTech product. In this space we strive for reliability efficiency and costeffectiveness.
The success of the product will be measured through a team of scientists from a large commercial beekeeping association in a major export market and through feedback from the participating commercial beekeepers.
Tasks
- Lead development of robust embedded Software for STM32 microcontrollers for a connected masterslave system in a handson way.
- Optimise and finalize our software architecture and platform and provide feedback on electrical designs.
- Guide junior engineers manage repositories and interface with other teams.
- Design our testing framework from unit tests to hardware integration testing.
- Some examples of the interesting topics we work on:
- A proprietary 2wire communication standard for our specific design challenges.
- Alwaysonline worldwide connectivity through LTE and NBIoT.
- Fully autonomous IoT system without external power source.
Requirements
- Experience with STM32 and realtime operating systems.
- Basic knowledge of electrical engineering to understand and review hardware design.
- Programming languages: C C (and optionally Python)
- Experience using oscilloscopes to debug communication signals e.g. UART.
- Comfortable with git and Linux.
- Swiss or EU passport existing Swiss work permit or permanent residence (B/C permit)
- An interest in a healthier world and bees.
