Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Surgical Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment on the night shift. This role is ideal for a highly skilled nurse who can provide intermediatelevel care to postsurgical patients transitioning from the ICU. The RN will be responsible for monitoring patient progress managing complex postoperative cases and ensuring a smooth recovery process.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive postsurgical care to patients in a stepdown unit
- Monitor vital signs telemetry wound care and pain management
- Respond to changes in patient conditions and escalate care when necessary
- Collaborate with surgeons intensivists and the healthcare team for optimal recovery outcomes
- Document patient care accurately using Insert Charting System
- Adhere to hospital protocols infection control and patient safety standards
- Active RN License in IL (or compact license if applicable)
- BLS & ACLS Certification (Required)
- Minimum 12 years of experience in Surgical Stepdown or Progressive Care (Required)
- EPIC or other EHR experience (Preferred)
- Strong critical thinking and time management skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to new healthcare environments
