Generation Systems Engineer III Engineer Senior Combustion Turbines

Location: Phoenix AZ US

Summary

The Generation Systems Engineer III Combustion Turbines provides technical engineering design economic and analytical support in the development of longrange system plans and the of engineering requests proposals and presentations.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform engineering tasks requiring skills and experience gained through application of engineering methods and analysis.

  • Responsible for technical decisions and interpretations.

  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to others as needed.

  • May be subject to shift work.

The Generation Systems Engineer Senior Combustion Turbines applies indepth technical knowledge and expertise to complex engineering and construction projects and in resolving emergent issues.

Responsibilities:
  • Understand engineering technology and process concepts for the organization and its operations.

  • Work is reviewed from a longterm perspective and mainly for results.

  • Establish the most effective solution to problems.

  • Provide solutions that serve as a final technical basis for decisions.

  • May be subject to shift work.


Minimum Requirements

Engineer III Combustion Turbines

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science from an ABETaccredited institution or an equivalent recognized institution.

  • Five 5 years of experience in engineeringrelated positions.

Engineer Senior Combustion Turbines

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or related applied science from an ABETaccredited institution or an equivalent recognized institution.

  • Eight 8 years of experience in engineeringrelated positions.

Preferred Special Skills Knowledge or Qualifications

  • Problem analysis and resolution techniques.

  • Knowledge of applicable codes standards practices and safety regulations.

  • Experience in the utility industry.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.

Approved Degrees: Materials Science/Metallurgy Physics Chemistry Math Nuclear Electrical Mechanical Civil Electronics Computer Science Environmental Chemical Architectural Structural. Engineering Technology degrees are not automatically considered equivalent to a B.S. degree in Engineering.


Major Accountabilities

  1. Develop and apply unique solutions to a broad range of technical issues requiring original and creative approaches.

    • Make decisions and recommendations that impact organizational performance.

  2. Prepare complex engineering plans designs analyses specifications cost estimates and evaluations.

    • Ensure technical soundness costeffectiveness and compliance with regulations.

    • Review and validate analyses and investigations conducted by others.

  3. Manage complex projects that require interpretation or modification of existing guidelines.

    • Identify potential scheduling or quality issues and implement corrective actions.

  4. Interface with customers and departments to ensure project objectives align with scope budget and schedule.

    • Obtain and present technical data to management and customers.

    • Present project findings to relevant stakeholders.

  5. Provide technical guidance leadership and support to less experienced engineers.

  6. Assist in problemsolving by critically evaluating assumptions and decisions.

    • Develop longrange strategies for significant site challenges.

  7. Leverage industry and organizational resources to resolve key technical issues.

    • Develop strategic solutions and implementation plans.

  8. Plan and coordinate largescale engineering projects or multiple mediumscale projects.

    • Manage all project aspects including feasibility studies resource allocation and budget estimates.

  9. Monitor projects and recommend modifications to enhance operational efficiency.

    • Ensure compliance with design specifications and regulatory requirements.

    • Develop negotiate and manage contracts.

  10. Research new developments and technologies making recommendations for their feasibility in operations.

  • Flex Role: Employees may work from an assigned office or homebased location pending leadership approval.
