Job Description
The Role
Working with highly motivated Data Scientists within SEEKs AI team you and your team will build and support endtoend products delivering value to hirers and job seekers that are powered by machine learning models bring insightful analysis to empower your team and senior stakeholders to make impactful decisions and develop your teams talent by providing technical leadership and delivery management capability.
To be successful in this highly collaborative role you will as part of a larger team focus on the inference components of products that help SEEK better understand the marketplace.
You will: build concise statistically sound assessment of models; help design A/B tests; refine strategic thinking with data; collaborate to build endtoend AI/ML solutions; stay up to date with emerging techniques in data science like Generative AI; support the growth of other data scientists including validating the value accuracy and limitations of the assets the team builds; and be deeply involved in an exciting culture of continuous crossfunctional learning. You will know how to achieve alignment estimate effort identify dependencies collaborate across functions and teams and coordinate the Data Science delivery to support the teams products.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing a deep understanding of a niche business domain within SEEK such as pricing market position or ad performance.
- Developing a deep understanding of the data available to SEEK and how it can influence decisions made within your sphere of responsibility.
- From those understandings formulating actionable requirements from current business problems and clarify the valueadd and limitations of a datadriven approach.
- Gathering validating and understanding designs relevant to the problem statement.
- Working with product management and other business stakeholders to review and iterate data products to fit emerging market trends.
- Evangelising appropriate ML methods and explaining them and their associated benefits and limitations to team members from Engineering Product and other functions.
Qualifications :
Essential skills and experience:
- 8 years of commercial experience building and improving datadriven products.
- Demonstrated experience with machine learning algorithms and model performance tuning.
- Advanced data extraction and processing skills using Python SQL and Spark.
- Comfort working with and around a software development team including Git AWS Databricks and MLflow.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to operate in an ambiguous environment.
Desirable skills and experience:
- Fluent with a command line in a *nix environment.
- Postgraduate qualification in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Physics Mathematics Bioinformatics Computer Science Engineering).
