Team Description
The Financial Analytics & Planning team enables the Funds ability to make informed strategic decisions. It provides management views focused on actionable cost perspectives that analyze key trends and anticipates future decisions. This includes leading cost management reporting business planning and optimizing resource allocation to drive value creation and achieve organizational goals.
Job Summary
As an Associate Cost Analytics in the Financial Analytics & Planning team you will be responsible for supporting the organizations operational strategy to align with financial objectives ensuring that resources are optimally allocated to support business priorities. As a crucial part of the team your responsibilities include assisting in the implementation of enterprisewide key performance and/or operating indicators for specific cost categories; supporting the of departmental and project financial plans and forecasts; and independently handling financial closing activities.
Accountabilities:
- Develop update and maintain cost models trends analysis and dashboards using various data sources and business intelligence tools (e.g. Oracle Financials SQL queries to extract information from database)
- Prepare monthly quarterly and annual cost reporting and analysis for CPP Investments. This will support reporting to the Senior Management Team Board of Directors and Departments as well as the Annual Report.
- Plays a key supporting role in the development of financial and project plans in addition to cost allocations.
- Developing partnerships across the Fund to update cost models and analysis.
- Promotes continuous improvements in processes and reporting proactively identifying opportunities for enhancements and automation.
- Identifies and thoroughly investigates variances and determines appropriate course of action in a timely manner.
- Contributes to system changes and upgrades by providing input into requirements and coordinating or executing user acceptance testing.
- Responds to enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Works cross functionally with other team members and departments to ensure we remain aligned with our vision goals and values.
Qualifications :
- Business degree (bachelor or graduate) with concentration in Accounting or Finance
- Demonstrated experience 34 years) in preparing budget forecasts and analytics.
- Solid problemsolving skills with experience in automation tools data manipulation software or planning software (e.g. Power BI Python SQL Thinkcell Oracle Essbase & GL).
- Exemplify CPP Investments Guiding Principles of integrity partnership and high performance.
- Demonstrate curiosity in understanding business processes and finding ways to continuously improve.
- Apply critical thinking to resolve operational issues and timely escalation of emerging risks or issues to their leaders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to influence and effectively interact with senior leadership and communicate with all levels of management.
