Job Description
We are seeking a Producer to join our dynamic newsroom. As a key player in our content team youll subedit produce and publish highquality stories that drive subscription growth and engage our readers. The ideal candidate thrives in a fastpaced environment with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to deliver under tight deadlines.
Key responsibilities:
- Edit and produce stories in the content management system focusing on quality and deadlines.
- Craft engaging combinations of headlines writeoffs and visuals to create compelling sells for stories.
- Liaise with reporters and topic editors to subedit stories and rework copy (as necessary) to the highest standards.
- Monitor blogs to ensure live copy is errorfree and of high quality.
- Write accurate and effective SEO headlines and captions to improve audience engagement with our stories.
- Enhance stories with other assets such as photographs videos graphics multimedia and key points.
- Curate edit and schedule newsletters as required
- Work across various shifts including mornings afternoons and weekends.
Qualifications :
What we would like to see:
- Previous experience in subediting and production for online publishing.
- Strong understanding of current affairs with a keen news sense.
- Expertise in content management systems and SEO optimisation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and knowledge of the English language grammar and syntax.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fastpaced environment.
- Familiarity with legal best practices including defamation laws.
- Knowledge of business journalism markets and/or politics will be advantageous.
- Experience with social media and live blogs is desirable.
