Job Description
Do you love working with children Are you looking for a seasonal summer job that is fun and fulfilling Camp Curiosity is looking for energetic and teamoriented Jr. Camp Counselors to join our team for the 2025 season.
The role of Jr. Camp Counselors is to provide a fun safe and memorable experience for the campers. They will be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of the campers with the assistance and guidance of the Curiosity Leadership and Camp Counselors. Jr. Camp Counselors will work closely with Camp Counselors to ensure the group attends and actively participates in the variety of camp activities.
Hours of Operation: MondayFriday 8am5pm; Shifts determined upon hire.
Responsibilities
- Assist Camp Counselors in camp groups with children ranging in age from 612. All groups are divided by age with appropriate ratios.
- Help the assigned group move between activities based on his/her groups assigned weekly schedule.
- Assist in organizing and leading a variety of small and large group activities each week. Activities may include crafts nature songs games.
- Work together with Camp Director Assistant Director Camp Supervisor and coCounselors to engage campers and maintain a positive fun environment.
- Actively participate in all camp activities including swimming and special events/guests.
- Identify and report camper behavior issues to counselors.
- Ensure that the site is kept clean sanitized organized and free of litter.
- Know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
- Know enforce and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp and all program areas including but not limited to being responsible for your campers safety and their whereabouts at all times.
- Be flexible and fill in where needed.

Qualifications :
- Must be at least 16 yrs old. 18 and older apply to the Camp Counselor position).
- Prior work and/or childcare experience.
- Enjoy working with children.
- Ability to lead plan organize and implement program activities.
- Ability to work with others in a team environment.
- Ability to accomplish tasks with independence motivation and responsibility.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and creatively solve problems.
- Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Pediatric First Aid & CPR Certifications and/or Lifeguard/WSI Certifications at time of hire or able to obtain one month before the camp start date. (Camp Curiosity will be hosting certification).
- Must be able to obtain Background Clearances FBI fingerprinting Child Abuse Clearances and Mandated Reporter Training (will change with regulations)
Additional Information :
Camp Curiosity will be hosting a CPR and Lifeguard Certification class in June 2025 dates TBD.
