Job Description

Roles and responsibilities


The merchandise associate is responsible for maintaining and organizing the storefront by stocking shelves, appealingly arranging merchandise, and building product displays to create a smooth shopping experience.

Handles customer concerns and inquiries.
Attends the cash register as needed.
Coordinates with team membersfor smooth operations.
Providing outstanding customer experiences.
Receiving new merchandise and stocking shelves on the sales floor.
Restocking and neatly repacking unsold items onto shelves.
Preparing merchandise for purchase by entering items into store inventory and applying sales tags.
Assembling product displays, dressing mannequins, and arranging merchandise in storefront windows.
Promoting a positive store culture.
To ensure that all company's Merchandising directives are being adhered to.
Ensuring that product prices are clearly marked and that items are properly displayed.
Stocking and Organizing Merchandise
Restocking Shelves: Ensure that merchandise is regularly restocked on shelves or displays, especially during busy periods. This includes replenishing products that are running low or have sold out.
Display Setup: Assist in setting up product displays to make them visually appealing and aligned with company guidelines or promotional themes. Ensure that displays are neat and orderly, with items clearly visible and accessible to customers.
Product Rotation: Manage the rotation of stock to ensure that older products are sold first (FIFO – First In, First Out). This is particularly important for perishable goods or seasonal items.
Pricing and Tagging: Make sure that all items are correctly priced and have appropriate product tags. This includes ensuring that promotional items are marked clearly.
Customer Assistance
Customer Service: Greet customers and provide assistance with product inquiries, locating items, and suggesting products. Offer guidance on promotions, sales, and store policies.
Providing Recommendations: Help customers by suggesting products based on their needs and preferences. Answer questions about product features, availability, and pricing.
Checkout Assistance: In some cases, merchandise associates may assist customers at checkout, helping them process their purchases quickly and efficiently.


Desired candidate profile

A high school diploma.
Previous experience in retail, inventory, or merchandising preferably in a theme park or waterpark environment.
Good knowledge in computer use.
Excellent communication skills in English.
Arabic speaker is an added advantage.
Good standard of numerical skills.
Inventory Management
Inventory Checks: Participate in regular inventory counts and checks to ensure stock levels are accurate. Help track inventory discrepancies and assist with reordering stock when needed.
Stock Receiving and Unloading: Assist in receiving shipments and unloading new stock. This can involve lifting and moving boxes or pallets of products to the store floor or stockroom.
Stockroom Organization: Maintain a clean, organized stockroom where items can be easily located and retrieved when needed.
Visual Merchandising
Product Placement: Ensure products are placed according to store guidelines or promotional strategies. This can include arranging products by category, brand, size, or color to enhance the shopping experience.
Seasonal or Promotional Displays: Work with the team to set up seasonal or sale displays that highlight special promotions or new arrivals. Make sure these displays are refreshed as needed to maintain customer interest.
Ensuring Product Accessibility: Keep aisles and displays free of clutter, ensuring that products are easily accessible to customers. This includes organizing shelves and displays and ensuring there are no obstacles.
