Our client a reputable construction company is seeking a reliable and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its team of professionals. The ideal candidate will analyse budgets prepare quantity estimates negotiate contracts and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure efficient cost control and project . This role requires a detailoriented professional with a strong tendering cost control and contract management background.
Responsibilities
- Review construction plans and prepare accurate quantity requirements.
- Scrutinize maintenance and material costs ensuring costeffective procurement and contract negotiations.
- Liaise with site managers clients contractors and subcontractors to facilitate smooth project .
- Prepare reports analyses contracts budgets and risk assessments to support decisionmaking.
- Advise managers and clients on cost improvements and strategic planning.
- Monitor material usage and procurement ensuring adequate supply for ongoing projects.
- Document design changes and update project budgets accordingly.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Travel between office and project sites as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Quantity Surveying Engineering Management or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantity surveying particularly in the construction industry.
- Proven experience in tendering for building and civil engineering projects.
- Familiarity with tendering procedures on the NEST platform.
- Strong knowledge of Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and current market rates.
- Expertise in project cost control tracking actual costs against agreed BOQs.
- Ability to raise project claims calculate actual work values and initiate payment certificates.
- Experience in identifying quantifying and pricing contract variations.
- Proficiency in construction estimating and financial analysis.
- Strong analytical problemsolving and criticalthinking skills.
- Sound understanding of construction and engineering principles.
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan organize and strategize effectively.
