Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

Teaching and Instruction
Lesson Planning and Delivery: Design and deliver engaging and well-structured lessons that cater to students at various levels (beginner to advanced) of Spanish proficiency. Cover all key areas: grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
Language Skills Development: Focus on helping students develop their speaking, listening, reading, and writing abilities in Spanish. Provide opportunities for students to use the language in meaningful and practical contexts.
Cultural Awareness: Integrate lessons on Spanish-speaking countries, cultures, history, and traditions to provide students with a broader understanding of the world in which Spanish is spoken.
Real-World Application: Encourage students to apply their language skills in real-world contexts, such as through conversations, role-playing, or group projects that reflect cultural scenarios or practical uses of the language.
Student Support and Development
Encouraging Participation: Foster a supportive and encouraging classroom environment that promotes active student participation. Encourage students to practice speaking in Spanish with each other, in discussions, and during activities.
Building Confidence: Help students overcome any challenges related to language learning, such as pronunciation or grammar difficulties. Provide positive reinforcement and constructive feedback.
Differentiation: Tailor lessons to meet the varied needs and learning styles of students, making sure that both beginners and more advanced learners are appropriately challenged.
Assessment and Feedback: Regularly assess students’ progress through assignments, tests, projects, and oral exams. Provide constructive feedback to help them improve their skills and understand areas for development.

Formative and Summative Assessments: Use a variety of assessment methods (e.g., quizzes, exams, presentations, written assignments, and oral tests) to evaluate student understanding and progress.

Cultural Knowledge: A solid understanding of Spanish-speaking cultures, history, and traditions to incorporate cultural lessons into language instruction.
Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with online learning platforms, language apps, multimedia resources, and digital tools to enhance the language learning experience.
Adaptability: Ability to adjust teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and levels, as well as adapt to changes in curriculum or school policies.
