Job Description

Music Teacher Coventry Immediate Start

About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Music Teacher to join an innovative and supportive team at a thriving secondary school in Coventry. The successful Music Teacher will be responsible for teaching both theoretical and practical music across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 fostering a dynamic engaging and creative environment. The role will involve planning and delivering lessons on a range of music topics from music theory to composition and performance. The Music Teacher will also have the chance to help develop the music curriculum ensuring it is uptodate with current trends in the music industry and education.

In addition to classroom teaching the Music Teacher will lead extracurricular activities such as school concerts choirs and musical performances creating opportunities for students to showcase their talents. You will be encouraged to integrate technology and modern music production tools into your teaching offering students the chance to experiment with digital music and recording equipment. As part of this role the Music Teacher will be involved in planning and executing musicrelated school events fostering a strong sense of community within the school.

Requirements
To be considered for this role the successful Music Teacher will have:

  • A degree in Music or a closely related subject.
  • A PGCE or equivalent qualification in Music.
  • Previous experience teaching Music in a secondary school setting particularly KS3 and KS4.
  • A passion for music and teaching with the ability to inspire and engage students through innovative lesson planning and delivery.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the school particularly in extracurricular areas.
  • Experience with using technology in the classroom to enhance learning including music production software and equipment.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills with a commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
