Summary: The SpeechLanguage Pathologist (SLP) assesses diagnoses treats and helps to prevent communication and swallowing disorders in patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patients speech language and swallowing abilities.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs.
- Implement therapy techniques to improve communication and swallowing skills.
- Educate patients and their families on communication strategies and coping techniques.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatments as necessary.
- Maintain detailed patient records and documentation.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Conduct research related to speech and language problems.
Qualifications:
- Education: Masters Degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology.
- License: Valid SLP license in the state of WA.
- Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence in SpeechLanguage Pathology (CCCSLP) from ASHA (American SpeechLanguageHearing Association).
- Experience: Varies by position; typically 12 years of experience as a speechlanguage pathologist.
