Our flagship campus is in Sydney Australia but we engage our Contractors and Freelancers all over the world to help us meet our crazy big goals. As a Contractor or Freelancer at Canva you can work remotely in the country listed on this job ad meaning you have ultimate flexibility. Wherever works for you works for us. Please note this is a 6month contract role.
What youd be doing in this role
As our Senior Copywriter youll work closely with the Creative Director to shape and bring Canvas voice to life across EMEA. Partnering with a Brand Designer freelancers and agencies youll craft compelling copy across all mediumsfrom integrated campaigns to product launches and events.
Were looking for someone versatile experienced and brimming with creative energy. Youll have a knack for thinking strategicallyeven if youre not technically a strategistand the ability to turn those bigpicture ideas into simple clear and inspiring copy.
This is your chance to help build our voice in EMEA in a way that is true to Canva. Youll create fresh performance marketing ideas lead product campaigns and write standout content for events. Youll also jump into testing and iterating creative assets as part of our alwayson strategy.

At the moment this role is focused on:
- Writing reviewing and dreaming up ideas for Canvas brand product and performance campaigns.
- Leading campaigns from the initial idea to final always staying true to Canvas brand and strategy.
- Confidently pitching concepts and present your work to senior creative leaders product marketers and key stakeholders with a clear creative vision and strategic reasoning.
- Collaborating with external partners sharing guidance and feedback to keep messaging consistent and highquality.
- Work closely with the Creative Director to ensure schedules are accurate and realistic and that deadlines are met.
Youre probably a match if
- You have 58 years of experience creating for campaigns digital social media OOH and performance marketing.
- You have a creative mind with a proven track record of developing original ideas and bringing them to life with care and attention to detail.
- You have a portfolio of diverse work that spans advertising and branding.
- You have strategic thinking helps you uncover problems identify insights and turn them into powerful creative concepts.
- You have a love for writing copy thats thoughtful meaningful clear inspiring andwhen neededprovocative.
- You have Nativelevel English skills. Additional languages are a plus (French Spanish Italian Turkish German).
- This is a remote role with flexible working hours but youll need to balance your schedule to accommodate occasional global team meetings in the evening 69 PM)
