Job Description

Roles and responsibilities

JASARA PMC is looking for a Technical Libraries Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the management and organization of technical documentation and records critical to our projects. You will support the Technical Libraries Manager in ensuring that all technical material is well-organized, maintained, and accessible to project teams and stakeholders. This position is essential to streamlining the information flow and ensuring compliance with operational standards.

Responsibilities:

Administrators of as-built information including BIM / GIS Models and documents
Manage requests from project teams who require access to as-built records
Provide project teams with source records for design and construction projects

Liaises with GD Administrative Support to ensure compliance with archiving and data protection policies.
Cataloging and Organizing Library Materials
Cataloging: Organize and catalog books, journals, periodicals, audiovisual materials, and other resources. This includes inputting items into library systems, assigning classification codes, and creating searchable records.
Shelf Organization: Ensure that library materials are shelved in the proper order according to library classification systems, such as Dewey Decimal Classification or Library of Congress Classification.
Labeling: Label books and other resources with identification tags, barcodes, and call numbers for easy retrieval.
Assisting Library Users
Customer Service: Assist library patrons with locating books, articles, and other resources. Provide information about the library’s services and guide users on how to use library catalogs or digital resources.
Checking In/Out Materials: Oversee the circulation of library materials by checking books in and out, processing holds, and managing late fees or overdue items.
User Education: Educate library users on using library resources effectively, such as databases, e-books, and other digital resources.
Maintaining and Managing Library Collections
Collection Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance of library materials by inspecting them for damage and repairing or replacing items as necessary.
Inventory Management: Conduct inventory checks to ensure all library materials are accounted for and properly maintained.
Updating Collections: Assist in acquiring new materials for the library, such as books, magazines, e-books, and other media. This can include researching new acquisitions, ordering, and removing outdated materials.


Desired candidate profile


Education

Bachelors/ Masters/ PhD in Engineering or Business related degree


Experience

5+ years of experience in performing a variety of analytical and technical tasks related to the provision of library services in the construction environment

Digital Resources Management: Assist in the management of digital resources, such as e-books, audiobooks, and online databases, ensuring that patrons have access to up-to-date information.
Technology Troubleshooting: Help troubleshoot library technology, including computers, printers, self-checkout systems, and online resources.
System Maintenance: Assist in the operation and maintenance of the library’s integrated library system (ILS) and ensure that databases and software are functioning correctly.
