We are seeking a highly motivated and creative English Teacher to join an Outstanding Ofstedrated mixed gender secondary school in Barnet. This fulltime permanent position with an ASAP start offers a chance to make a significant impact on students literacy and communication skills.
About the Role:
As an English Teacher you will be pivotal in delivering a dynamic and engaging English curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will inspire students to develop a love for literature and language encouraging them to become confident and articulate communicators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging English lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Foster a stimulating learning environment that encourages critical thinking creativity and collaboration.
- Implement innovative teaching strategies to enhance student understanding and engagement with literary texts and language concepts.
- Assess and monitor student progress providing constructive feedback and targeted support to ensure academic success.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and refine the English curriculum ensuring it remains relevant and challenging.
- Organise and participate in extracurricular activities such as debating clubs poetry slams and theatre workshops.
- Contribute to the schools commitment to promoting literacy and a love of reading throughout the school community.
Ideal Candidate:
- A passion for English literature and language with a strong understanding of literary analysis and creative writing.
- A relevant teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent) and a strong academic background in English.
- Proven experience teaching English at secondary level ideally within an Outstanding Ofstedrated school.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and organisational skills.
- A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential in English.
