Job Description
Job Title: Histology Technician
Location: White River Junction VT
Duration: 7 Months
Start Date: April 2025
Shift Schedule: 40 hours per week
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in Histology and Cytology.
- If shortlisted CME is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform grossing embedding cutting staining and coverslipping of tissue specimens.
- Assist in cutting surgical frozen sections and possibly autopsies as required.
- Utilize equipment instruments and specialized techniques to process specimens while maintaining integrity and meeting laboratory standards.
- Prepare special stains as requested by pathologists for diagnostic purposes.
- Serve as a backup morgue assistant in the absence of the contract diener assisting with autopsies body identification setup closure and cleanup.
- Ensure adherence to laboratory protocols safety regulations and quality assurance standards.
