Job Description

  • Initial contract duration for 12 Months with further extension up to a maximum of 24 months
  • Location: ACT QLD SA VIC
  • Security Requirements: Must be able to obtain Baseline
  • Working Arrangements:
    Hybrid
    Canberra Preferred. Office location is capital city of selected states. The expectation is in the office for first 6 wks before a flexible working arrangement will be considered usually a minimum of 3 days/wk onsite. One or more Reduced Activity Periods (RAP) may be implemented. Candidates will not be required to undertake work for the Buyer during a RAP. The Buyer will not be liable to pay any charges during a RAP except for days worked by candidates with prior written approval of the Buyer

    40 hours per week

SoftLabs is seeking APS6 Systems Analyst for ICT Labour hire at their technology consulting based in ACT QLD SA VIC.





Job details

Systems Analysts translate business requirements into technical requirements that align with relevant architectures.
Systems Analyst Professionals design create evaluate and document ICT solutions in new and existing ICT systems. They may propose modifications to the existing systems and processes or design new systems to meet user needs as expressed in requirements documentations or user stories.
Senior Systems Analysts are responsible for translating business needs into ICT system requirements and specifications for enhancements. It includes designing analysing and documenting software systems to meet business expectations. They are responsible for writing functional specifications from the business requirements.
Senior Systems Analysts:

Promote and deliver flexible quality service and products to improve customer experience

Work under the limited direction of senior staff to deliver results

Undertake complex work

Make ethical evidencebased decisions using sound judgement

Anticipate and respond to stakeholder needs and expectations

May manage a team.





Key duties and responsibilities

Duties may include some or all of the following:

Perform detailed analysis and evaluation of business processes and requirements

Create solution designs and implement solutions to meet business needs

Create and maintain solution documents

Support daily operations and monitor performance of business solutions

Adhere to delivery and support methodologies and contribute ideas for improvement

Perform detailed technical application assessments considering feasibility resource effort risks and benefits

Conduct testing activities such as test planning coverage reviews and defect management

Collaborate with stakeholders to define tasks resolve issues solve problems and ensure effective and timely implementation of projects

Undertake project quality management tasks such as peer and quality reviews of specifications design and testing documents

Review research process models and documentation of other staff providing guidance and feedback

Resolve or escalate issues as required and suggest alternative approaches and solutions

Perform cost analysis activities as required

Manage the life cycle of changes and improvements to systems

Manage a team to increase performance and engagement through:

coaching o capability development

performance management

health and wellbeing support

Set priorities manage resources and assist with the development of work plans

Exercise delegations in line with legislation and guidelines as required.

Essential Criteria

1. Feasibility assessment: Level 4 (SFIA)

Selects relevant feasibility assessment approaches and techniques. Identifies the range of possible options. Undertakes shortlisting of options and feasibility assessment. Engages with internal and external stakeholders to get the information required for feasibility assessment. Supports preparation of business cases including cost/benefit impact and risk analysis for each option.

2. Requirements definition and management: Level 4 (SFIA)

Defines and manages scoping requirements definition and prioritisation activities for initiatives of medium size and complexity. Contributes to selecting the requirements approach. Facilitates input from stakeholders provides constructive challenge and enables effective prioritisation of requirements. Establishes requirements baselines obtains formal agreement to requirements and ensures traceability to source.

3. Software design: Level 4 (SFIA)

Designs complex software applications components and modules. Uses appropriate modelling techniques following agreed software design standards guidelines patterns and methodology. Creates and communicates multiple design views to balance stakeholders concerns and to satisfy functional and nonfunctional requirements. Identifies evaluates and recommends alternative design options and tradeoffs. Models simulates or prototypes the behaviour of proposed software to enable approval by stakeholders and effective construction of the software. Verifies software design by constructing and applying appropriate methods. Reviews verifies and improves own designs against specifications. Leads reviews of others designs.

4. Systems design: Level 4 (SFIA)

Designs system components using appropriate modelling techniques following agreed architectures design standards patterns and methodology. Identifies and evaluates alternative design options and tradeoffs. Creates multiple design views to address the concerns of the different stakeholders and to handle functional and nonfunctional requirements. Models simulates or prototypes the behaviour of proposed system components to enable approval by stakeholders. Produces detailed design specifications to form the basis for the construction of systems. Reviews verifies and improves own designs against specifications.
