Job Description
You are an important contributor in the creation of new solutions and to deliver the best customer experience sustainable solution and quality at the lowest possible costs. You take a stand in important matters and you are willing to challenge known patterns.
As a mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for:
- The engineering tasks from innovative conceptual design analysis and optimization until final solution to be used in the Furniture.
- Realize innovation in virtual and physical prototypes
- To secure that all mechanical requirements (legal as functional) are covered by the solution.
- To develop document and maintain the digital 3D models and 2D drawings with all relevant dimensions and tolerances according to IKEA CAD Standards
- Initiate development test and computer simulations (FEM) to optimize and verify the solution.
- Collaborating with development partners designers and manufacturers to ensure design specifications are met
Qualifications :
We are looking for a team player who I passionate about innovation and creating solutions with the right cost quality and a focus on sustainability.
- We believe you can turn ideas and product concepts into mechanical engineering constructions.
- We believe you have a university degree in Mechanical Engineering as well as theoretical and practical background within Mechanical Engineering and its impact in supply chain.
- You have knowledge in mechanical design in terms of drawing technique geometric dimensioning tolerancing simulations and 3D modelling.
- Good Knowledge in using Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs and product life cycle management systems such as Solid Work and PTC Windchill
- In your mind a failure is just another idea that did not work out and you are not afraid to try again and again.
- You have a passion for details constantly curious and driven to develop new and better solutions.
- You are thriving in working in the unknown finding new solutions and have a passion to learn and make things happen.
