The Behavior Clinician II will serve as a leader of the Youth Out of Home Services (OHS) team dedicated to addressing the unique needs of children teens and young adults with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors to live safely in the community in a residential group home setting. Some of our youth have transitioned out of more restrictive settings such as a hospital while others have transitioned from their family home.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Manage caseload of individuals 1021 years old) for treatment implementation
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments and develop Positive Behavior Support Plans (BSPs)
- Provide clinical guidance to Direct Support Professionals and Program Supervisors
- Conduct program visits to interact with staff and supported individuals
- Foster positive rapport with individuals parents and guardians
- Review data to ensure care meets individuals current needs
- Complete progress reports and update plans as necessary
- Assist in providing oncall support crisis intervention and outreach as needed and appropriate.
- Consult and assist with assessment and implementation of supports needed such as reinforcement systems coping skills adaptive equipment etc.
- Provide guidance and assistance with admission and discharge decisions on high needs cases.
- Participate in the debriefing of significant incidents of individuals on caseload when requested
- Attend personcentered planning meetings and home staffing meetings
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with external service providers including DDA Consultants Hospitals Schools ABA Providers etc.
Qualifications :
Must Have:
- Must have or be in the process of obtaining a Masters degree in behavior analysis mental health psychology education social work or related discipline. Dungarvin can provide supervisory hours toward licensure for BCBA and Clinician II can move into Clinician III/BCBA role once licensure is completed.
- 3 years of experience with vulnerable populations (youth/teens preferred)
Nice to Have:
- Preferred: Relevant experience in designing and implementing support plans for individuals with developmental disabilities autism and/or challenging behaviors
- Preferred: Experience and understanding of positive behavior supports.
- Preferred: Relevant experience providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) or Emotion Regulation Skills System
