Cloud Engineer Cost Governance DevOps Engineer

Hybrid : Sunnyvael SFO Seattle

Pay rate: 8090/hr ( DOE)

About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned Cost Governance DevOps Engineer to join our team. This critical role focuses on optimizing cloud resources managing cloudrelated costs and ensuring efficient financial operations. The ideal candidate has handson experience in managing costs during cloud migrations optimizing cloud spend incident management SLA monitoring and driving costeffective strategies across multicloud environments (GCP AWS and OCI).

As part of this role you will work at the intersection of finance and engineering collaborating to ensure resource optimization and financial efficiency across our cloud infrastructure. Your contributions will directly impact our financial outcomes and operational performance as we transition from onpremise to the cloud.

Responsibilities:
Collaborate with stakeholders engineers and finance teams to manage cloudrelated finances.
Monitor and analyze cloud spend across GCP AWS and OCI and provide realtime insights through dashboards.
Work with engineers to optimize resource usage ensuring services are turned off when no longer needed.
Contribute to building a recommender service at a project level to optimize costs and usage rates.
Help implement chargeback processes to track cost drivers and allocate expenses correctly.
Link activity into financial processes and cycles for example providing variance analysis to budgets during monthend reporting
Establish guardrails / policies to detect and remove usage waste.

Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Statistics Mathematics or a related field.
3 years of experience in data analysis data engineering or a related role.
Experience with GCP particularly BigQuery Compute Engine Dataflow and SQL.
Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python or R.
Strong understanding of GCP Cloud fundamentals in FinOps to manage Cloud Budget Forecast
Spend monitoring purchasing various Commitments deriving Cloud Cost Optimisation across the Organisation
Strong understanding of FinOps principles cloud governance and financial optimization strategies.
Familiarity with chargeback processes and the ability to recommend costeffective strategies.
Excellent communication and problemsolving skills.
