Job Description
The Chemist / FSSAI Executive will be responsible for ensuring that the food products manufactured by the company comply with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) regulations. This role involves overseeing compliance with food safety standards ensuring proper documentation and handling regulatory affairs related to food products. The position demands knowledge of FSSAI guidelines food safety laws and quality assurance practices within the food industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that the companys food products meet FSSAI regulations and standards.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities for approvals certifications and inspections.
- Ensure timely renewal of FSSAI licenses and permits.
- Stay updated on changes in food safety regulations and communicate these to the concerned teams.

Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain and update records for FSSAI licenses certificates and other regulatory documents.
- Prepare and submit regular compliance reports as required by authorities.
- Assist in documentation for audits and inspections related to food safety standards.

Quality Assurance:
- Support the Quality Assurance team in implementing food safety programs and audits.
- Coordinate the review of labeling and packaging to ensure compliance with FSSAI guidelines.
- Ensure that the company s products meet the required food safety standards.

Training & Awareness:
- Conduct regular training sessions for employees on FSSAI standards and food safety protocols.
- Increase awareness of the importance of food safety across departments and teams.

Product Approval & Certification:
- Assist in the process of product registration and approval with FSSAI for new products.
- Ensure products are compliant with labeling and health claims before launching.

Inspection Coordination:
- Coordinate and support FSSAI inspections and audits of production facilities.
- Work with external auditors to ensure compliance with food safety standards.

- Identify areas where food safety or regulatory compliance may be lacking and work with the relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
- Provide solutions to issues raised during inspections or audits related to FSSAI compliance.

Requirements
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor s degree in Food Technology Food Science or a related field.
- Certification or diploma in Food Safety or Quality Control is a plus.

- Minimum of 23 years of experience in food safety quality assurance or regulatory affairs in the food industry.
- Indepth knowledge of FSSAI regulations and compliance standards.

Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of FSSAI guidelines food safety regulations and labeling requirements.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with regulatory authorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detailoriented with strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and knowledge of regulatory software is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of FSSAI guidelines food safety regulations and labeling requirements.
