Job Description
The Senior Functional Configurator (Finance) will work on a dynamic team that supports the Retail SAP System solution. This role provides daytoday support of the existing SAP Canada Retail implementation as well as supporting future enhancement initiatives. The position is responsible for conducting handson activity as well as providing leadership to crossfunctional team members tasked with solving system and business issues.

The Finance Senior Functional Configurator provides direction for specific process and subprocess areas such as General Ledger Tax Sales Audit Rebates Accounts Payable Accounts Receivable and Inventory Accounting. It is expected that this person has extensive knowledge of how specific SAP modules work FI/CO and MM and how they need to interface with other functional areas.

The Senior Functional Configurator is responsible for understanding how to estimate configure and leverage SAP functionality to meet core business process needs. He/she will regularly interface with business stakeholders IT infrastructure teams development teams and boundary system teams to ensure that business requirements are met through proper system configuration.

He/she will participate throughout the project (or defect) life cycle from requirements to production implementation with emphasis on design development testing and implementation of system enhancements and defect fixes. He/she will participate in creating business and technical requirements and processes and will interface with and provide updates to Manager and/or Sr. Manager on a daytoday basis.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Gather detail requirements from business users for defect or enhancement changes to the existing SAP Canadian Retail application. Document requirements in approved Business Specification Requirement Document and receive business signoff.
  • Perform design for approved defect or enhancement changes document design requirements in a Functional Specification document.
  • For technical solutions requiring ABAP development partner with Development Team members to translate functional requirements/design into technical specifications.
  • Follow approved project guidelines and methodologies for supporting system changes.
  • Create test plans to conduct unit/functional testing for approved system changes document test cases execute and validate tests.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance testing (UAT) with Business Stakeholders.
  • Interface with Business Stakeholders IT Infrastructure teams Development teams to ensure that business requirements are properly configured within a software package.



Requirements

Experience/Knowledge Require:
  • Experienced SAP individual with 6 years of FI experience and an understanding of the Cost Method of Accounting.
  • 34 full lifecycle SAP implementations experience including an indepth understanding of SAP integration and implementation methodology required.
  • 12 years of experience working in S4HANA environment
  • Understanding of endtoend purchasetopay lifecycle (master data procurement receiving invoice receipt and matching payment processing)
  • Understanding of EDI and B2B processes beneficial
  • Ability to gather business requirements and design an SAP support solution
  • Understanding of SAP lifecycle development
  • Experience with moderately complex SAP solutions with considerable customization beneficial
  • Handson experience with all aspects of application testing: unit QA integration and performance. Ability to draft and execute test plans and properly validate results.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization (analyst to vicepresident)
  • Strong oral and written skills
  • Experience in SAP CAR is a plus. Retail experience is beneficial but not mandatory
