This position is responsible for activities that support Optum Clinical Services with regulatory and delegation contractual requirements as outlined in the Clinical Services Delegation Oversight framework.
Location: Remote/Telecommute
Hours: MondayFriday 8am5pm PST
You will enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities
- Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate our company's commitment to superior customer service including quality care and concern with each internal and external customer
- Assist with projects geared to improve efficiency and cost savings
- Assists in preparing custom denial letters as requested by Care Management team
- Prepares member notification mailings for specialist terminations using mass mailing processes
- Document preparation for health plan audits
- Interaction with various health care facilities or providers for medical record request and retrievals
- Ability to facilitate meetings with health care facilities
- Assists with file preparation for health plan audits
- Requests medical records to assist in appeals requests from health plans
- Maintains tracking logs
- Uses protects and discloses our patients’ protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
- Performs additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
- 2 years of experience in the healthcare industry
- Intermediate level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- 3 years of office experience in a healthcare industry
- Compliance or quality improvement experience
- Computer literate
- Proven experience with attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to create graphs and charts using Excel
- Able to type 40 wpm
- Verbal and Written Communication skills
- All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy.
