About the Role:
We are looking for a passionate dynamic and experienced Head of Maths to lead our highly regarded Maths Department at a prestigious independent school. As the Head of Maths you will have the exciting opportunity to shape and inspire students from KS3 to KS5 fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of mathematics. You will lead by example ensuring the department delivers innovative and engaging lessons while promoting academic excellence critical thinking and a love for the subject. You will be responsible for leading a team of skilled teachers supporting their professional growth and creating a collaborative environment that enhances student achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Maths Department across KS3 to KS5 ensuring the delivery of highquality engaging and challenging lessons that inspire a passion for mathematics.
- Develop and implement curriculum improvements that enhance student learning and reflect current best practices in teaching and learning.
- Provide strong leadership and support to the departments teaching staff offering guidance and fostering a collaborative approach to lesson planning resources and departmental initiatives.
- Monitor student progress assess learning outcomes and provide constructive feedback to help all students achieve their best potential in maths.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages students to develop confidence in their mathematical abilities ensuring each students academic and personal growth.
- Encourage the development of problemsolving and critical thinking skills incorporating realworld applications of mathematics to deepen students understanding.
- Contribute to the broader academic and extracurricular life of the school promoting mathsrelated initiatives and activities that enrich students experience.

About You:
To be considered for this role you will need:
- A degree in Mathematics or a related subject.
- A formal teaching qualification with QTS (PGCE or equivalent).
- Proven experience teaching Maths across KS3 to KS5 with a strong track record of student success.
- Leadership experience in a department or school with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of educators.
- Strong communication organisational and classroom management skills with the ability to foster a collaborative department culture.
- A passion for mathematics education and a commitment to providing an inspiring and enriching educational experience in a supportive independent school environment.
