Job Description
Job Title: Medical Support Assistant
Location: Golden CO 80401
Duration: 3 to 12 Months
Shift Schedule: 40 hours per week (Between 7:00AM 6:00PM Monday Friday)
Start Date: April 2025
Qualification:
Education: High School education or GED equivalent
Experience: Must have at least 1year of relevant experience
Minimum 6 months customer service experience
Must have typing speed of 50 WPM
Responsibilities:
- Outpatient Scheduling and Process and Procedures
- Responds to telephone inquiries regarding delivery of services
- Basic medical terminology knowledge
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments following VHA Directive 1230.
- Collaborate with the Lead Scheduler to ensure timely patient communication and workflow efficiency.
- Authorize and coordinate Veteran care with community providers when VA services are unavailable.
- Validate and update patient demographics in VA systems.
- Process community care consults using HealthShare Referral Manager (HSRM) and other VA systems.
- Manage phone inquiries professionally providing information on VA services and appointments.
- Ensure accurate integration of health records into CPRS and VistA systems.
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools (Excel Word Outlook Teams) for daily administrative tasks.
