Fumigator Duties:
This position will perform a variety of container tarp and vessel fumigations in a safe manner following SGS guidelines and SOPs.
- Performing container fumigations preshipment and quarantine
- Generating documents for vessel and quarantined container fumigations
- Accomplish inspection requirements according to the scope of job
- Establish constant communication with operations
- Keep full and accurate logs
- Follow safety procedures
- Maintain a professional manner while performing his/her duties
- Delivers samples to laboratory for analysis
- Support any other duties that may be assigned by his/her supervisor
- Follow all requirements according to any government regulations pertaining to fumigation services.
- May be assigned and coordinate special or ad hoc projects as needed (i.e. training for grain grading lab analysis H&S related tasks such as field risk assessments etc)
Grain Inspector Duties:
This position is responsible for various sampling picking up and delivering samples cleaning samples with dockage carter/sieves laboratory analysis sample login data entry and reporting raw data.
- Login organizing storing distribution and disposing of incoming samples and after final inspections
- Clean grain samples using dockage carter/sieves and prepare for grading
- Picking up and delivering samples from various locations to office or vice versa
- Operate maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment (moisture meters scales dockage testers protein testers ELISA readers). Monitor all equipment according to desired standards before performing the analysis
- Perform analyses such as moisture protein dockage test weight mycotoxins germination tests etc.
- Analysis of miscellaneous other branch specific laboratory analyses (malt barley variety identification audits etc.)
- Maintaining/monitoring of basic laboratory supplies (gloves dust masks filter papers etc.).
- Cleaning of work areas (dusting sweeping etc.).
- Follow all requirements according to the Canada Grain Act and Canada Grain regulations.
- Follow CFIA protocol for sampling CGC standards for sampling SGS SOPs any other client specific specs.
- Issuing initial and final reports related to food container industrial etc. inspections (i.e. Government Inspection Services GIS).
- Assist in preparing onsite final analysis reports (i.e. Perform the inspection and complete the inspection report)
Qualifications :
- A minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Possess and maintains a valid drivers license.
- 1 3 years of previous experience in a fumigating role is an asset.
- Must obtain a valid training and licenses in the following: Pesticide Applicator Licence Confined Space Training Level 1 First Aid Level 1 WHMIS and Transportation of Dangerous Goods.
- Must be able to read understand and follow work instructions in a safe accurate and timely manner.
- Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
- Detail orientated and has the ability to take accurate notes.
- Candidates must be proficient in using various type of computer software (Word Excel etc.).
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fastpaced highly professional environment.
- Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills including grammar and composition.
- Ability to work well with others & independently.
- Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Works well under pressure.
- Ensures full compliance with the companys Health & Safety Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct policies.

Salary: $35.70 per hour
