Job Description
One of our clients is seeking a Senior System/Network Engineer to support server network cloud infrastructure and security operations. This role requires expertise in Linux VM management VMware infrastructure data backup & recovery network security and hardware administration. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in troubleshooting upgrading and securing IT environments while working with internal teams and external vendors to maintain critical systems.
This is a hybrid role with 2 onsite days per week (days selected by the employee).
Key Responsibilities
- Server Administration: Install monitor and manage Linux VM Servers VMware vCenter v7.0/v8.0 ESXi Hosts and VMware Site Recovery Manager.
- Data Backup & Recovery: Administer Veeam Backup & Replication Immutable Backup and ScaleOut Repository for onprem and Azure storage accounts.
- Network Security & Analysis: Perform network protocol analysis using NetScout nGeniusOne and Wireshark.
- Storage Management: Maintain HPE Synergy C7000 Compute Modules HPE SAN Interconnects 3PAR & Alletra Storage Arrays.
- Load Balancing & Firewalls: Work with Citrix NetScaler Azure and OCI Load Balancers for traffic management and application security.
- Network & Firewall Maintenance: Support Cisco Routers Firewalls Switches Palo Alto NGFW and Panorama for secure network connectivity.
- Vendor & Contract Management: Work with external account managers to maintain service contracts discuss upgrades and evaluate new technologies.
- Collaboration & Troubleshooting: Work with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve network application and servicerelated issues.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
- 5 years of expertise in server data backups retention policies and data restore using Veeam Backup & Replication.
- 5 years of experience managing Veeam One for onprem and Azure Storage repositories.
- 5 years of experience installing maintaining and troubleshooting Linux VMs.
- 5 years of strong understanding of network protocols VLANs firewall rules routers DNS and DHCP.
- 5 years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory Azure and Office 365 Cloud infrastructure.
- 5 years of experience capturing and analyzing network traffic using NetScout nGeniusOne and Wireshark.
- 5 years of working knowledge of SSL/TLS Certificates (creation renewal and installation).
- 5 years of experience with network configuration CLI and webbased management tools.
- 5 years of experience managing HPE Servers Blade Servers Chassis and Interconnects.
- 5 years of experience using Cisco CLI for Routers Firewalls Switches ISE and Wireless Controllers.
- 5 years of experience using Palo Alto Panorama to manage and maintain security configurations.
- 5 years of experience working with Citrix NetScaler or other load balancing/firewall appliances.
- 5 years of experience using SFTP for backup software upgrades and firmware updates.
- 5 years of experience accessing manufacturer websites for support tickets downloads and updates.
- 5 years of experience working with external vendors to maintain service contracts and resolve technical issues.
- 5 years of strong communication skills to assist in problem resolution documentation and stakeholder collaboration.
- 5 years of experience using Microsoft Office products and Visio for documentation.
