You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are currently looking for a PhD candidate to develop a new type of singleatom electrodes for electrocatalytic hydrogenation to produce valueadded products at industrialscale current densities. The primary focus of this role is to explore singleatom tailoring strategies together with precise control of the electrode microarchitectures to maximise device performance. This project includes establishing fundamental principles on the fabrication of highefficiency singleatom electrodes and understanding the relationships between the morphological properties of singleatom sites and catalytic activities. Success in this role requires collaboration with the immediate research team and a broader interdisciplinary team across worldclass research institutions.
The intended commencement date of this scholarship is Intake 2 or 3 2025.
This opportunity will be primarily based at Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multisite University you may be required to work across other locations.
Griffith Universitys sites are located on the lands of the Yugarabul Yuggera Jagera Turrbal Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Qualifications :
The selection of applicants for the award of higher degree research scholarships at Griffith University involves consideration of your academic merit and research background. To be successful within this role you will be able to demonstrate strong expertise in the fields of 2D materials and photo/electrocatalysis for clean energy applications. You will have evidence of a passion for exploring cuttingedge technologies to help achieve netzero emissions with a strong desire to undertake research in materials science and renewable energy.

About the scholarship
The 2025 Griffith University Postgraduate Research Scholarship has an annual stipend of $34752 (indexed) for a period of up to three years of fulltime study. Please see the GUPRS Conditions of Award for more information.
A successful International applicant will also be awarded a Griffith University International Postgraduate Research Scholarship to cover tuition fees for up to three years. Please see the GUIPRS Conditions of Award for more information.
