Job Description
- Initial Contract Duration: to 31 December 2025
- Extension term details: Any period up to an additional 24 months
- Location: ACT
- Security Requirements: Must have Negative Vetting Level 1
- Working Arrangement:Onsite
Typical working arrangements are MondayFriday during normal business hours. Shift work may also be required in response to cyber security incidents and also to support electoral events at key periods (e.g. close of rolls polling day) This position requires an ONSITE presence at the AECs national office in Canberra. Applicants wishing to work remotely will NOT be considered. - Maximum hours
40 hours per week

Job details
Key duties and responsibilities
The successful applicant for this role will be responsible for the maintenance of cyber security monitoring and analysis toolsets and will take a lead role in the build of the cyber security architecture through consultation with internal ICT teams to secure this architecture.
Technical skills
MANDATORY:
- Experience using Sentinel or similar SIEM solution
- Indepth familiarity with the Australian Government ISM
- Experience with security technologies such as endpoint protection firewalls and IDS/IPS
- Extensive experience in Windows Linux networking and system administration
- Experience with security services in the cloud (Azure or AWS)
DESIREABLE:
1. Experience in cyber security monitoring and incident response within or for other Federal government agencies
