Job Description
As a Bookkeeper for this cuttingedge construction firm you ll play a pivotal role in maintaining financial accuracy and generating valuable business insights. Utilizing QuickBooks Online you ll be responsible for managing a sophisticated classbased accounting system that tracks profitability across various projects and clients. This position offers a unique opportunity to work directly with the company s handson owner contributing to the financial strategy of a rapidly growing business. You ll be at the forefront of financial management applying your expertise in construction accounting and financial analysis to support the company s ambitious growth plans.
Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize the company s QuickBooks Online system ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded and uptodate
- Perform timely reconciliations tackling a backlog of approximately 20 entries to bring all accounts current
- Efficiently handle accounts receivable and payable maintaining smooth cash flow for the business
- Implement and refine a classbased accounting system to precisely track profitability by client and project
- Generate insightful financial reports and analyses to inform strategic business decisions and pricing strategies
- Prepare comprehensive financial records for tax season ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant
- Collaborate directly with the business owner to align financial processes with the company s fastpaced operations and growth objectives
Requirements
- Proven experience of 23 years in bookkeeping with a strong preference for construction industry expertise
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online particularly in setting up and managing classbased accounting systems
- Demonstrated ability to analyze project profitability and generate actionable financial insights
- Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to work efficiently in a fastpaced environment
- Excellent communication skills and the capacity to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with the business owner
- Flexibility to work evening hours: 8 PM to 12 AM EST (9 AM to 1 PM Philippines time) aligning with the company s operational schedule
- Proactive problemsolving skills and the ability to suggest improvements to financial processes
- Familiarity with construction industry financial practices and terminology is a significant plus
- Has worked with construction companies in the past
