Job Description
Job Title: Database Application Developer
Location: Remote
We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Design develop and maintain database applications to meet business needs.
- Write efficient reusable and scalable SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Perform database tuning optimization and performance analysis.
- Design and implement data models data flows and databases using tools like SQL Server MySQL PostgreSQL or Oracle.
- Integrate applications with backend databases ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Work closely with business analysts project managers and other stakeholders to gather requirements and define functional specifications.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery procedures ensuring data security and integrity.
- Develop automated scripts and tools for database migrations and version control.
- Ensure the database applications are compliant with industry standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues related to application performance security or data integrity.
- Conduct unit tests performance tests and assist with deployment and maintenance.
- Provide technical support to other teams and endusers regarding databaserelated issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience (typically 3 years) as a Database Application Developer or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL database design and optimization.
- Experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS) like SQL Server MySQL PostgreSQL or Oracle.
- Familiarity with database programming languages like PL/SQL TSQL or stored procedures.
- Solid understanding of application development frameworks (e.g. .NET Java Python) and how they interact with databases.
- Experience with cloudbased databases (AWS Azure Google Cloud) is a plus.
- Knowledge of data security encryption and compliance requirements.
- Ability to work with large datasets and implement data warehousing solutions.
- Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with crossfunctional teams.
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB Cassandra or Redis.
- Knowledge of data analytics reporting and Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git SVN).
- Experience in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Familiarity with application deployment and containerization (Docker Kubernetes).
- Federal Experience is a plus.
- Required Security clearance.
