Job Description
This is a remote position.
Junior Estimator Mechanical Services
Sydneys leading insulation contractor is seeking a Junior Estimator to join our team. In this role you will assist in preparing cost estimates for mechanical services projects including HVAC plumbing and piping systems. This position involves analyzing project specifications collaborating with engineers and contractors and utilizing estimating software to develop accurate cost projections.
Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM AEST
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with engineers project managers and contractors to gather project specifications and requirements.
- Analyze blueprints technical drawings and other project documents to prepare cost estimates.
- Assist in evaluating materials labor and time required for mechanical installations.
- Utilize specialized estimating software to create and refine cost projections.
- Prepare detailed bid proposals and reports for management and clients.
- Track and compare actual project costs to estimates adjusting calculations as needed.
- Stay updated with industry trends materials and pricing in mechanical services.
- Attend virtual meetings with clients vendors and stakeholders to discuss budgets and project estimates.
- Support senior estimators in preparing competitive bids and proposals.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering Construction Management or a related field.
- Prior experience or internship in estimating mechanical services or construction.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC plumbing and mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with estimating software and tools (e.g. Bluebeam AutoCAD or industryspecific platforms).
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Highly Regarded Skills and Experience:
- Experience in mechanical estimating or related fields.
- Knowledge of construction methods materials and regulations in mechanical services.
- Understanding of project management principles.
- Ability to work on multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
