Requirements
We are seeking an experienced EDI Developer. In this role you will work with OpenText and IBM Sterling to implement and manage efficient EDI solutions ensuring seamless integration and data exchange for our clients business operations.
Objective: Provide EDI development maintenance and support for client business needs within a
managed services environment.
Core Technical Skills
1. EDI Development & Mapping:
- Expertise in OpenText Trading Grid and IBM Sterling B2B Integrator (formerly Gentran).
- Strong understanding of ANSI X12 EDIFACT XML IDoc RosettaNet and other EDI standards.
- Handson experience with EDI mapping tools (OpenText Mapping Designer IBM Sterling Map Editor).
- Development and maintenance of business process models (BPML) in IBM Sterling B2B Integrator.
2. Integration & Middleware:
- Experience integrating ERP systems (SAP) with EDI solutions.
- Knowledge of APIs Web Services (SOAP/REST) AS2 SFTP HTTP FTP VANs and MQ.
- Understanding of middleware and message brokers (MuleSoft WebSphere Boomi).
3. EDI Partner Onboarding & Management:
- Onboarding new trading partners and configuring communication protocols.
- Understanding of partner profile setups routing and scheduling.
- Troubleshooting and resolving partner connectivity and transaction failures.
4. EDI Transactions & Compliance:
- Handson experience with EDI transaction sets (etc.).
- Ability to ensure compliance with clientspecific EDI guidelines and industry regulations.
- Experience with GS1 standards UCC128 labels and barcode generation.
5. EDI Testing & Troubleshooting:
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills using Sterling B2B Integrator logs OpenText logs and transaction tracking tools.
- Experience conducting unit testing endtoend testing and regression testing.
- Familiarity with EDI test environments and validation tools.
Soft Skills & Managed Services Capabilities
1. Client Support & Issue Resolution:
- Ability to manage tickets incidents and change requests in a managed service environment.
- Strong customer service mindset ensuring SLAs are met.
- Experience in proactive monitoring alerting and performance tuning.
2. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:
- Maintain clear documentation of EDI processes mappings and configurations.
- Assist in SOP creation training materials and knowledge transfer.
- Experience working with ITSM tools (ServiceNow Jira Remedy etc.).
3. Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with internal teams business users and trading partners.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
- Participate in team meetings status updates and reporting.
4. ProblemSolving & Continuous Improvement:
- Identify process inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
- Participate in automation and optimization efforts.
- Stay updated on EDI trends security best practices and compliance updates.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- 35 years of experience in EDI development with OpenText Trading Grid / IBM Sterling B2B Integrator.
- Handson experience with SQL JavaScript or Python for scripting and automation.
- Knowledge of cloudbased EDI solutions (AWS Azure Google Cloud IBM Cloud OpenText B2B Cloud).
- Experience in manufacturing logistics or automotive industries.
- EDI certification is a plus.
