As a Quantity Surveyor you will support the Commercial Team; helping to drive efficiencies; managing costs and regional performance for our clients. This role will see you take control of all financial aspects of the project overseeing all commercial & contractual matters. You will deliver desired margin return utilising high standards of commercial acumen. Whilst identifying recording and tracking both risks and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Creates and maintains excellent relationships with Senior Commercial/Operations Managers.
- Assists Contract Managers and Senior Management to operate maintain and report on financial matters relating to specific contracts.
- Develop and build strong working relationships with National Grid.
- Produce reports and applications for payment submitted within set deadlines.
- Manages subcontractor approvals allocates work to subcontractors produces subcontractor payments reports and maintains accurate records.
- Commercial management of projects including cash flow forecasting and monitoring progress.
- Completes regular cost / value reconciliations (CVRs) analysing outcomes effectively tracking variations and reporting on profitability.
- Attend weekly/monthly management meetings with clients.
- Deals with payment discrepancies and outstanding balances on review of Statement of Accounts.
- Offers alternative solutions and value engineering.
- Advise on legal issues arising during the project.
Key Requirements:
- A comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software especially Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Excel.
- GCSEs Grade 94 or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years relevant experience within same role or similar within the civil engineering sector.
- Selfdriven resultsoriented with a can do attitude without compromising safety and/or compliance.
- Knowledge of Commercial Contracts.
- Strong numerical and financial management skills.
- ProblemSolving Skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication Skills.
- Confident with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with managers at all levels within a business.
- Time management skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fastpaced environment.
- Full UK Driving License Holder.
