Job Description

Quantity Surveyor

Competitive Salary

Bristol/Gloucester area

As a Quantity Surveyor you will support the Commercial Team; helping to drive efficiencies; managing costs and regional performance for our clients. This role will see you take control of all financial aspects of the project overseeing all commercial & contractual matters. You will deliver desired margin return utilising high standards of commercial acumen. Whilst identifying recording and tracking both risks and opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creates and maintains excellent relationships with Senior Commercial/Operations Managers.
  • Assists Contract Managers and Senior Management to operate maintain and report on financial matters relating to specific contracts.
  • Develop and build strong working relationships with National Grid.
  • Produce reports and applications for payment submitted within set deadlines.
  • Manages subcontractor approvals allocates work to subcontractors produces subcontractor payments reports and maintains accurate records.
  • Commercial management of projects including cash flow forecasting and monitoring progress.
  • Completes regular cost / value reconciliations (CVRs) analysing outcomes effectively tracking variations and reporting on profitability.
  • Attend weekly/monthly management meetings with clients.
  • Deals with payment discrepancies and outstanding balances on review of Statement of Accounts.
  • Offers alternative solutions and value engineering.
  • Advise on legal issues arising during the project.

Key Requirements:

  • A comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software especially Microsoft Word PowerPoint and Excel.
  • GCSEs Grade 94 or equivalent.
  • Minimum 4 years relevant experience within same role or similar within the civil engineering sector.
  • Selfdriven resultsoriented with a can do attitude without compromising safety and/or compliance.
  • Knowledge of Commercial Contracts.
  • Strong numerical and financial management skills.
  • ProblemSolving Skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication Skills.
  • Confident with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with managers at all levels within a business.
  • Time management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fastpaced environment.
  • Full UK Driving License Holder.
