Job Description
Job Title: Quantity Surveyor
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in cost estimation contract management and project budgeting. The candidate must possess excellent analytical skills and a deep understanding of construction methodologies contract laws and cost control measures.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects.
- Develop budget plans to ensure cost control throughout the project.
- Analyze contract documents and tender submissions.
- Prepare and evaluate bills of quantities (BOQ) and cost breakups.
- Negotiate contract terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Monitor actual project costs against budget estimates.
- Provide detailed cost analysis reports and financial forecasts.
- Identify and resolve cost overruns or budget discrepancies.
- Conduct site visits for measurement verification.
- Prepare valuation reports and progress claims.
- Assess and validate variations in project scope and pricing.
- Liaise with suppliers contractors and consultants to obtain competitive pricing.
- Ensure timely procurement of materials within the allocated budget.
- Ensure adherence to contractual obligations and legal regulations.
- Identify potential financial risks and provide solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Certification in Cost Management / Contracts / Estimation is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD MS Excel and QS software (CostX Candy Primavera etc.)
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts (FIDIC JCT NEC etc.)
- Understanding of BOQ preparation rate analysis and tender evaluation.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and problemsolving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
