Our success as an organization is realized through the work that takes place in our branches or regional chapters, what we call our Leadership Communities. Multiplying Good currently runs 11 of these Leadership Communities nationwide, one of those being Chicago, in order to deliver our flagship youth program, Students In Action (SIA). SIA is a unique service, leadership, and recognition program for high school and older middle school students nationwide in Chicago, youth across the region have participated in SIA for over 10 years.

Multiplying Good is seeking an experienced individual who is passionate about engaging youth in service-learning to both develop and manage youth programming in the Chicagoland region. Duties include recruitment, logistics and planning, training preparation and support, ongoing technical assistance, evaluation, marketing and communications, and networking/relationship-building. The workflow of this position will align with the school calendar; duties from August through May will focus largely on execution, while June and July are reserved for planning and strategic initiatives. Supported by their supervisor, the Manager, Programs and Partnerships will develop partnerships to grow the SIA program into additional schools/sites, provide technical assistance to current SIA teams, and support the marketing, communications, and outreach efforts necessary to increase brand awareness in support of scaling SIA across the region within the next 12 to 18 months.

POSITION SUMMARY
Students In Action (SIA) is a best-practice, research-informed service-learning and leadership development program for teens that uses project-based volunteerism as the vehicle through which youth gain critical skills necessary for success in high school, college, and beyond. Reporting to the Executive Director, Chicago, a successful candidate for the role of Manager, Programs and Partnerships in the

Chicagoland region will be an experienced professional who is passionate and dedicated to the power of service and how it can transform the lives of others. Candidates for this position should have significant experience working hands-on with youth and their caring adults, leading service-learning initiatives, implementing events and programs, and cultivating and stewarding partnerships with colleges, universities, businesses, volunteers, and community-based organizations.

Core to the success of this role will be an ability to effectively engage community leaders, partners, and volunteers, thereby building the Multiplying Good community through programming and partnerships across the region.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The activities below are core to, but not limited to, the work of Multiplying Good to make an impact across the Chicago area:

Program Recruitment and Outreach

• Outreach to new schools and districts for the purpose of scaling Students In Action (SIA) across Chicagoland. This includes occasional outreach to out-of-school-time programs that may also be interested in starting SIA teams.
  
• Cultivate and steward relationships with organizations that support the scale of SIA across the region, including colleges, universities, nonprofits, businesses, athletic organizations, etc.
  

Program Partnerships

• Cultivate and steward relationships with organizations that further the mission of Multiplying Good, including media outlets, corporate and community foundations, United Ways, etc. with support from national Multiplying Good staff leaders.
  
• Attend and participate in school-community meetings as necessary and permitted, such as parent-teacher associations, school improvement councils, etc.
  
• Work with and establish partnerships with regional education advocates.
  
• Act as an ambassador for Students In Action and the mission of Multiplying Good, presenting at local civic organization meetings such as Rotary, Kiwanis, Civitan, Junior League, etc.
  
• Manage and liaise with schools and districts as required to maintain vendor or partner status.
  
• Attend and participate in meetings of the Multiplying Good Chicago Advisory Board and identify and steward additional Advisory Board members as needed.
  

Program Administration

• Plan and manage logistics for twice-annual Leadership Conferences and year-end Public Service Pitch Day (student presentation showcase event) held in the region, including the procurement of food, presenters, space, audio-visual equipment, etc.
  
• Support schools in registering for and attending conferences and events.
  

Program Support

• Provide technical assistance to schools via in-person visits, phone, email, and webinars as needed, typically occurring weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, depending on the needs of the team.
  
• Act as a resource to teams, provide helpful tools and resources including project guides, service-learning lesson plans, planning templates, etc.
  
• Provide technical assistance and support to a range of adults who support each SIA team.
  

Program Evaluation

• Ensure implementation of SIA with fidelity, using data to drive program performance and supporting the creation of tools and resources to enable program implementation.
  
• Support evaluation and tracking through the management of program databases and the collection of impact data, including surveys, assessments, and student service testimonies.
  
• Work with national Multiplying Good staff on continuous program improvement.
  

Program Marketing

• Work with national Multiplying Good staff to write and distribute local marketing-related materials such as newsletters, flyers, documents, etc.
  
• Maintain a strong and appropriate local social media presence.
  

• Serve as a representative of Multiplying Good in the Chicagoland area, attending meetings and networking events on behalf of Multiplying Good as needed.
  
• Attend and provide assistance as assigned at twice-annual Multiplying Good national events outside the region: 1) the National Celebration of Service and 2) the Jefferson Awards (locations vary for both events and may require air travel and overnight stays).
  

Requirements

• A natural collaborator who proactively engages colleagues and stakeholders with good will, transparency, and kindness. Bachelor s degree from an accredited institution.
  
• Minimum of five years of results-oriented experience working with youth or in youth development.
  
• Strong relationship management and networking skills.
  
• Service, service-learning, training, and youth leadership experience.
  
• Experience in the promotion of volunteerism and community impact a plus.
  
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including presentation and facilitation abilities.
  
• Solid organizational, project-planning, and time-management skills.
  
• Passion for working with program staff, service and volunteerism, and youth development.
  
• Expert organizational, project-planning, and time-management skills.
  
• Event planning and event management experience.
  
• Valid driver s license.
  
• Computer literate and aptitude to use Microsoft Teams and Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Planner, SharePoint OneDrive), ZOHO ONE (CRM, Survey, Backstage, Campaigns, Expense), social media, and other web-based applications.
  
  

BUSINESS TRAVEL

This position includes travel throughout Chicagoland to work with youth and partners as described above. It also includes occasional air travel outside the region, approximately 2-3 times annually, for national staff retreats (location varies) and to the national Jefferson Awards in Washington, DC or in New York, NY.

Benefits

COMPENSATION
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, ranging between $27.50 and $34 hourly. Part-time employee benefits include a monthly technology allowance and a generous PTO policy.
