As Control Software Design and V&V Engineer you will be part of the Embedded System and Technologies organization and will contribute to the design development verification validation and certification of control software for safety-critical systems.
You will support the full development lifecycle from requirements definition and architectural concept development through software verification validation integration and certification activities in alignment with company processes and applicable aerospace standards including DO-178C.
You will work with cross-functional teams with a high level of ownership of embedded software and control system development contributing both to control system design and to software V&V execution while supporting technical reviews audits issue resolution and project delivery.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Identify analyze and consolidatecontrol system requirementsby applyingcontrol theoryandmathematical modeling

  • Define develop and validatearchitectural and functional conceptsat system and subsystem level to implement the identified requirements

  • Design control systems with the desired behavior usingcontrol theorymathematical modeling and model-based development methods.2

  • Support and drive the implementation of control concepts into software in close collaboration with the software team

  • Developsoftware test cases procedures and test vectorsbased onHigh-Level RequirementsandLow-Level Requirements

  • Set up and configure theverification and test environmentusing the appropriate configurations and tools

  • Performverification and validation activitiesfor control software in compliance withDO-178C supporting the full certification process

  • Support software and systemintegration issue debuggingworst-case analysis andsoftware performance evaluatio

  • Manage thevalidation status of change requests (CRs)for assigned functions and subsystems

  • Use software engineering tools such asconfiguration management systemsbuild processesdebuggersemulatorssimulators and related development tools throughout the software lifecycle

  • Performtechnical root cause analysisand definecorrective actionsfor identified issues

  • Document and maintain requiredsoftware verification artefactsand contribute to technical documentation quality

  • Supportsoftware design reviewsand contribute toverification validation test and analysis results reviews

  • Ensure adherence to Avio Aero / GE development processes and supportinternal and external process audits

  • Formulate and implement plans to achievetechnical requirementsprogram schedules andcontract commitments while monitoring and communicating project status business issues and significant developments

  • Work collaboratively across cross-functional and multinational teams to achieve technical and program objectives

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Engineering or other STEM disciplines with experience in control system design software design and software development

  • Previous experience in an equivalent engineering position

  • Experience inhighly complex control systemsin industrial automotive medical or aerospace sectors and experience incontrol software verification and validation activities

  • Proven experience with system engineering principles e.g. V-lifecycle process including requirements engineering Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) and Model-based Design (MBD) methods tools validation & verification principles (keywords: DOORS SCADE MatlabSimulink Synergy Python NPSS C).

  • Fluency in Italian and English

  • Documented exposure to the Regulation & Standard

  • Proven experience in multinational companies

  • Solid oral and written communication skills

  • Italian only Citizenship

  • Work Visa according to local regulation is required

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Good knowledge SAE ARP 4754A and DO-178C

  • Strong problem-solving approach and demonstrated ability to connect horizontally with other roles/function

  • Documented exposure to the Aviation Regulation & Standard
