We are currently hiring Staff Grade Medical Physicist Permanent for a reputed hospital in Dublin Ireland.
Responsibilities
- Perform clinical physics duties in areas such as radiotherapy diagnostic imaging nuclear medicine or radiation protection
- Ensure safe operation and quality assurance of radiological and imaging equipment
- Conduct calibration testing and maintenance checks on medical physics equipment
- Support radiation safety programmes and ensure compliance with national and international regulations
- Assist in treatment planning and dose calculations for radiotherapy patients
- Analyse and interpret scientific and technical data related to patient treatments and imaging procedures
- Participate in acceptance testing and commissioning of new equipment and technologies
- Provide technical advice and support to consultants radiographers radiation therapists and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate documentation reports and quality control records
- Participate in clinical audits research activities and service development projects
- Assist in developing and implementing departmental policies protocols and standard operating procedures
- Support training and education of junior staff students and multidisciplinary teams
- Ensure adherence to hospital health & safety policies and radiation protection legislation
- Participate in continuing professional development and maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical physics practices and technologies
Requirements
- Hold a recognised first or second class honours degree with Physics as a major subject
- Possess a postgraduate qualification in a scientific or engineering discipline
- Demonstrate the knowledge competence and suitability required for the effective discharge of duties
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Completion of a formal training scheme in Medical Physics
- Experience in the field of medical imaging or radiotherapy
- Experience working within multidisciplinary healthcare environments
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while maintaining high professional standards
- Strong analytical organisational and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to quality assurance patient safety and continuous professional development
