Job Summary
A well-established waste and recycling operation is adding a senior Health & Safety Adviser to its in-house EHS team. This is a substantive hands-on role for an experienced practitioner who is ready to take ownership of H&S across a multi-site portfolio 22 health and safety regulatory sites and 10 environmental regulatory sites.
The role sits within a flat structure reporting directly to senior management. The incoming adviser will take meaningful responsibilities from day one working with a small experienced team in a sector that is stable essential and operationally demanding.
What the role involves
- Risk assessments method statements and safety statements across a multi-site estate
- Site visits to operational waste and recycling facilities in Dublin Meath and North Dublin
- Day-to-day advisory support to site management and operational teams
- Regulatory compliance management engaging with enforcement authorities as required
- Contributing to the ongoing development of safety culture across the organisation
- Potential to lead on compliance specialisms (ISO and related frameworks) as the role develops
What you bring
- Minimum five years health and safety experience in a comparable heavy industry or operational environment
- Confident in producing risk assessments method statements and safety statements independently
- Strong interpersonal skills able to build trust with site teams management and regulators alike
- A generalist profile practical breadth is valued over narrow specialism
- Comfortable in an active industrial environment; not looking for a desk-based advisory role
- Relevant qualification (NFQ Level 7 or equivalent in Health & Safety or related discipline)
