Our client is a well-established control panel manufacturer with operations in Limerick and Shannon. They specialise in supporting repeat and high-volume OEMs along with a wide range of industrial applications.
Due to continued growth and increased demand they are now seeking an Electrical Quantity Surveyor to join their team and support the commercial delivery of key projects across their operations.
Job Overview
This role will involve managing the financial and contractual aspects of electrical projects from tender stage through to final account. You will work closely with engineering procurement and production teams to ensure projects are delivered on budget efficiently and in line with client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage project costs from initial tender through to final account
Prepare detailed cost estimates and Bills of Quantities based on drawings and specifications
Interpret electrical schematics single line diagrams and technical documentation
Monitor budgets track project costs and identify risks or cost overruns
Manage subcontractor packages including tendering negotiation and valuations
Prepare interim valuations variations and final accounts
Coordinate procurement of electrical components and materials
Liaise with clients suppliers and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle
Maintain accurate cost reporting and project documentation
Support continuous improvement across commercial and operational processes
Qualifications
Degree in Quantity Surveying Electrical Engineering or related discipline or
SOLAS Level 6 apprenticeship with relevant industry experience
Essential Skills/Experience
Minimum 5 years experience in an Electrical QS or similar role
Strong understanding of electrical systems including LV MV and control panels
Experience with industrial projects automation or panel manufacturing environments
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications
Strong commercial awareness and cost management skills
Excellent organisational and communication abilities
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Desirable Skills
Experience working with PLCs VFDs and motor control system
Familiarity with IEC standards and electrical compliance requirements
Proficiency in Excel AutoCAD or similar tools
Experience with ERP or MRP systems
Knowledge of contract forms and procurement processes
Full clean driving licence
