Job Title:QA Engineer / Software Tester (Manual API & Database)
About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical QA Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in manual testing practices combined with hands-on expertise in API testing and database validation. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality reliability and performance of our applications by validating both front-end functionalities and complex back-end data architectures.

Key Responsibilities

. Manual Testing: Design write and execute comprehensive test plans test cases and test scripts based on business requirements and technical specifications. Perform functional regression integration and user acceptance testing (UAT).
. API Testing: Test RESTful and/or SOAP APIs independently to ensure seamless data flow between the front-end and back-end services. Validate request/response payloads HTTP status codes and error handling.
. Database Testing: Write and execute complex SQL queries to perform backend database testing. Validate data integrity data mapping and ETL processes to ensure data is stored and retrieved accurately.
. Defect Management: Identify isolate and track bugs throughout testing. Document detailed defect reports with reproducible steps and work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
. Collaboration: Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies (Sprint Planning Daily Stand-ups Retrospectives) and collaborate cross-functionally with product managers developers and business analysts.
. Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve testing methodologies contributing to the overall quality strategy of the engineering team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

. Experience: e.g. 3 years of proven experience in Software Quality Assurance and testing.
. Manual Testing: Deep understanding of software testing life cycle (STLC) defect life cycle and various testing techniques (black-box exploratory boundary value analysis etc.).
. API Testing Tools: Hands-on experience with API testing tools such as Postman SoapUI or Swagger. Strong understanding of JSON XML and REST architecture.
. Database/SQL Expertise: Strong proficiency in SQL (writing complex queries involving Joins Sub-queries Grouping etc.). Experience with relational databases like SQL Server Oracle MySQL or PostgreSQL.
. Defect Tracking: Proficiency with issue-tracking and test management tools (e.g. Jira Zephyr TestRail ALM).
. Methodology: Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
. Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills(Optional)

. Familiarity with financial domains payment messaging (e.g. ISO 20022 SWIFT) or regulatory reporting. (Note: Feel free to keep or remove this based on your specific team context).
. Basic understanding of test automation concepts or experience using automation tools (Selenium Python etc.) as a stepping stone.
. Experience testing microservices architectures.
. Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
