Job Summary
Description
As a Software Engineer in Test (SDET) you will define and drive quality engineering practices across the platform designing automated testing strategies performance validation frameworks developer tooling and CI/CD integrations. Working closely with backend engineers CloudOps specialists and architects you will help ensure the scalability reliability and security of the platform while enabling development teams to deliver with confidence.
Responsibilities
- Design implement and own end-to-end testing strategies for platform services.
- Develop and maintain robust automated API test suites for Spring Boot microservices.
- Build and execute performance and load testing solutions using tools such as k6 Gatling or JMeter.
- Integrate automated quality controls and testing gates into GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Design and enhance test environments testing frameworks and test data management strategies.
- Collaborate with CloudOps teams to strengthen observability monitoring and quality metrics.
- Partner with software engineers to embed quality practices early in the development lifecycle.
- Promote and drive engineering best practices related to testing automation reliability and continuous improvement across teams.
Requirements
- 4 years of experience as an SDET QA Engineer or Software Engineer with a strong focus on quality engineering and test automation.
- Solid experience with automated API testing frameworks such as REST Assured Karate Postman/Newman or similar tools.
- Hands-on expertise in performance and load testing using tools like k6 Gatling or JMeter.
- Strong programming skills in Java and/or Python.
- Experience working with Git Docker Kubernetes and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms preferably AWS.
- Knowledge of observability and monitoring solutions such as Datadog or Prometheus is advantageous.
- Exposure to contract testing and/or security testing is a plus.
- Strong engineering mindset with the ability to design challenge and improve systems rather than simply execute tests.
- Self-driven pragmatic and capable of influencing engineering teams through collaboration and expertise.
- Fluent English communication skills.
