We are looking for an engineering manager to oversee development key aspects of
our ecommerce application and platform. This is a high impact role. This position requires
dynamic and experienced leader with a deep technology background and strong record of
building high quality teams/products that consistently delight customers.
We are backed by industry veterans and has raised more than Rs 1200 crores of funding
from Abraaj Group, Sands Capital, Ascent Capital, Helion Ventures and Zodius Ventures.
Title: Engineering Manager
Location: Bangalore
Reports to: Director of Engineering
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage development of highly scalable ecommerce application and platform
Manage release planning and execution, deployment, DevOPs and production
environment
Provide technology thought leadership
Build and mentor high performance teams
Roles and Responsibilities:
Work with the team to design, build and deliver software that keeps all user-facing
services (most notably our website) and our many other production
systems running smoothly 24/7/365.
Work together with our Software Engineers to ensure reliability, availability and
performance of our services.
Automate our processes to stabilize our production and prevent problem
recurrence.
Influence and create new designs, architectures, standards and methods for large-
scale distributed systems.
Engage in service capacity planning and forecasting, software performance
analysis and system tuning.
Have in mind the big picture of how systems are related to each other and use a
breadth of tools and approaches to solve a broad spectrum of problems.
Practicing processes like limiting time spent on operational work, blameless
postmortems and proactive identification of potential outages factor into iterative
improvement.
Be responsible for DevOps roadmap and engineering execution from
conceptualisation to delivery of current and next-generation tools & technologies.
Be an advocate of DevOps principles and best practices and constantly improve on
devOps processes.
Manage development of highly scalable e-commerce application and platform
Manage release planning and execution, deployment, DevOPs and production
environment
Build and mentor high performance development and devOps engineering teams
Provide technology thought leadership
Qualification:
Experience designing, analysing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed
systems.
Experience and understanding of Agile development concepts and Cloud
environments, ideally from development background
Ability to systematically approach problem-solving and take initiative with a sense
of accountability.
Experience with AWS Cloud Services, Containers.
Bonus points with Linux, Networking & Cloud administration skills
Bonus points with proven experience on micro services.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
