About Detroit Cristo Rey High School
Detroit Cristo Rey High School, located in the heart of SW Detroit, provides an excellent college-preparatory Catholic high school education, in the Cristo Rey Model, to students from economically disadvantaged families in and around the Detroit area. In the finest tradition of Catholic outreach, we welcome families of all denominations. With a challenging and supportive college preparatory program, we equip students with the core knowledge and competencies needed for college and the workplace. And, through its Corporate Work Study Program, the school provides students with "real world" experience and fosters skills and attitudes necessary to succeed, such as responsibility, determination, and respect for self and others. The school opened in 2008 and has successfully achieved 100% college acceptance of all seniors since our first graduating class in 2012. The school emphasizes faith, morals and service to the community. Our ultimate goal is to enable students to gain the skills to be successful in life and the commitment to make a difference in their families, their neighborhoods, and the world.
