Mechanical Engineering Team Leader at SPX FLOW an ITT Company

SPX FLOW is seeking an experiencedMechanical Engineering Team Leaderto lead and develop a high-performing engineering team supporting global projects in the Food Beverage Dairy and Hygienic Process industries.

This role combines technical leadership people management and hands-on engineering responsibility across complex international capital projects.

About the Role

As Mechanical Engineering Team Leader you will be responsible for managing an engineering resource pool ensuring high-quality design output and aligning team capacity with project and proposal demands.

You will also play a key role in developing team capability driving engineering standards and ensuring safe compliant and cost-effective mechanical design execution across multiple projects.

Depending on workload you may also act as a Lead Mechanical Engineer on specific projects coordinating design activities and mentoring engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Team & Resource Management

• Manage and allocate mechanical engineering resources based on project demand
• Identify resource gaps and develop solutions (training recruitment secondment)
• Maintain engineering resource plans and ensure optimal utilization
• Prioritize workloads in coordination with Project Managers and Lead Engineers
• Ensure timely communication of resource availability and constraints

People Leadership & Capability Development

• Lead mentor and support mechanical engineers and designers
• Conduct performance reviews and set individual development goals
• Identify training needs and promote technical and leadership growth
• Foster a collaborative high-performance engineering culture
• Address workload balance motivation and team wellbeing

Engineering Quality & Compliance

• Ensure all engineering outputs meet SPX FLOW and contractual quality standards
• Promote adherence to global engineering tools standards and best practices
• Lead or participate in design reviews and technical audits
• Ensure compliance with safety regulatory and hygienic design standards
• Capture and implement lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives

Mechanical Design Leadership

• Support and oversee mechanical design deliverables including:
• Equipment specifications and vessel design
• Piping layouts (2D/3D) elevations and skid designs
• Material lists load calculations and foundation requirements
• Compliance with codes such as PED EN ASME
• Ensure design accuracy consistency and adherence to project schedules
• Lead design calculations (stress thermal expansion load analysis)

Cross-Functional & Project Support

• Collaborate with Process Automation Supply Chain Civil Electrical and Commissioning teams
• Support proposal development and pre-contract engineering activities
• Provide technical input during installation and commissioning phases
• Engage in customer and supplier technical discussions

What Were Looking For

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Strong experience in Food Beverage Dairy Pharmaceutical or Hygienic industries
Proven leadership experience in engineering teams
Strong understanding of hygienic design and CIP systems
Experience in mechanical design piping systems and equipment engineering
Ability to manage multiple projects in a matrix organization
Strong communication analytical and problem-solving skills
Fluent English (spoken and written)

Annual salary: 835500 CZK depending on experience and qualifications

Preferred Skills

• AutoCAD AutoCAD Plant 3D Inventor Vault experience
• SAP knowledge
• Experience in engineering design reviews and technical audits
• Exposure to international capital project execution
