Purpose: As the Manager External Partnerships Packaging and Labeling you will be part of a global team responsible for shaping securing and supporting a reliable clinical kit supply from the vendor network for use in clinical trials. You will manage the planning process between J&J Clinical Supply Operations and our external vendors seek opportunities for cost savings and serve as connection for issue resolution. You will manage vendor performance including On Time Delivery Lead Time Adherence and Compliance KPIs. As a people lead you and your team will focus on delivering cost effective clinical supplies in a compliant and efficient manner to ensure successful patient dosing. Partnership and collaboration with our external partners (Vendors) and our stakeholders such as procurement quality finance planning clinical supply operations and logistics will be key to success.
You will be responsible for:
Vendor Management
Work with external vendors manage cycle times drive actions at order level for vendor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of On Time Delivery (OTD) lead time adherence budget adherence and compliance.
Partner with cross functional teams to optimize end to end supply chain processes.
Drive appropriate escalation and resolution of critical risks and issues including communication to key stakeholders

Identify and address opportunities for vendor performance improvement.

Evaluate innovative ways of working to optimize and protect product supply
Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with internal business partners such as Planning Quality Procurement Clinical Supply Integrators and Trial Supply Leads to shape sourcing strategies and decisions to mitigate risk ensure reliable supply and balance cost with other sourcing considerations.
Ensure project timelines and business performance goals objectives and metrics are achieved including consistency with GMP guidelines and all other compliance requirements
Lead and/or support cross-functional projects to improve business process/tools
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education: Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Business or Science is required. Masters Degree and/or related supply chain certification is preferred (e.g. APICS).
Required Skills/Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of related experience is required.
Prior experience in Clinical Supply Chain.
Demonstrated ability to influence supply chain teams in an international environment.
Strong leadership skills. Ex: Managing complexity conflict and ability to identify process gaps based on data or root cause analysis ability to predict risk/impact of supply related processes.
Ability to solve complex issues and work independently to manage your portfolio.
Ability to multi-task and manage complexity with high sense of urgency and proactive communication.
Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate clearly and appropriately at all levels of the organization in both written & oral forms to drive effective decision making.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Demonstrated order management experience
Experience with several of the following: supplier relationship management inventory management supply chain management supply planning Lean and 6sigma systems (e-marketplace OMP SAP R/3 or ERP) other cross-functional business processes common to the pharmaceutical or process industry
Experience with GMP and/or Quality management systems and processes
Negotiation skills
